Re: ARB bull bar problems, HELP

ok...........heres the deal......i just tried to take pics of the space with a ruler and they arent turning out during the night so i'll do this method tomorrow and post up some pics.........

as for measurements....that really depends on your interpretation and where exactly you are measuring.
when the bumper is rounding towards its end.....in some spots i have almost a half an inch and in another spot it'll measure a quarter inch or so.........
we could be measuring differant areas.
if you could take a clearer pic of exactly where you want measured.....possibly with a piece of paper behind it with arrows pointing to where you want your measurements it would help greatly. its difficult for me to see from your pics exactly.

soooo.....post up more pics and i'll work in it tomorrow for you.
k???

Re: ARB bull bar problems, HELP

Because it is body on frame design there are so many variables to have two FJ has the same clearence within few mm me thinks as longs as it looks visually good and you are not hitting any body parts with extreme flex you are good to go. I installed the ARB and try to keep everything as far away as possible, closest point unfortunately is where the top portion of the brace with the front grille assembly which one of the member had a impact and direct the force on to it causing damage.

ok....the metal.
are you sure those contact areas arent from your stock bumper? i have alot of rubbbing on my metal, paint worn off......but it was from the stock bumper. you can see those areas in my photos........are you getting rubbing there?

you wrote: i am measuring from the plastic over fender to the edge of the bumper

if you could take that picture and point to the areas you want measured. when i look at my bumper and take measurments....the plastic bumper is a few inches wide out from the body and i'm not sure if you are measuring closer to the body to the arb or the farthest away corner. am i making sense? i know......sorry...i'm a chick and women can make things more difficult.......its the perfectionists in us.

and i think thats his issue. (body part rub) but you are right.......as for exact measurments within mm is going to be differant on each vehicle i'm sure.........

Re: ARB bull bar problems, HELP

well chris
i think i will have to work on it and try different set ups
i already dropped it all the way down i will center it left to rigt like the ARB tech said and see what happens
the rubbing started when i installed my ARB bull bar not when the factory bumper was installed
thank you so much Chris
thank you all

Re: ARB bull bar problems, HELP

I was told to install it as far as possible and the previous owner added another bolt to prevent this from happening.
