Thumbs up Re: Fab Four Front Bumper

Any plans to do a Fab Fours group buy???

I would buy the model with the grill guard and the front receiver bolt on option.

Re: Fab Four Front Bumper

Sorry to dig up a half-dead thread but will be buying a winch bumper soon (& the winch & the xtra battery & the ultimate toytec lift & a rear bumper... for the bank account!) & have narrowed it down to the FF & the Exp1. Getting the bullbar version - anyone have any advice/opinion between the 2? What's your experience been with the FF? I primarily want it to deflect bambi from getting a closer look @ my radiator and such. I've even called a client of mine that's a welder/fabricator to see if he could build a bull bar on top of the basic FF, similar to the RA Titan... said it would be no problem. Any advice/experience would be appreciated!
Thx!

Re: Fab Four Front Bumper

Another member with one is switching due to the massive weight. He has skids, bumper and winch. His icon coilovers couldn't handle it well. Drivability was poor. Mounts were small and weak. Another mber had the mounts break offroading and the company refuesed to fix it citing it wasn't meant to go offroad. I love the way it looks but in light of all this I won't buy without other good reviews. This is a well respeted member. Anyone else have one? Anyone know the weight? He said it was neaarly double other bumpers.

It weighs the same as any of the other large bumper, ARB and Road Armor Expedition one they are all close.

I have one and zero problems, only issue I had, is that when I installed it I didn't torque it down good and had to go back and redo it.

As for mounting brackets first i heard of the breaking.

I am running OME 885s plus toytec spacer and I like the way it drives.

Not true at all. It is FAR heavier than any other bumper I've seen. I've seen pretty much every one made for the FJ. I went out to the garage last night to check for ****s and giggles. The bumper weighed in at over 135 lbs. with no hardware, brackets, lights, light brackets, or winch fairlead. With a winch you are looking at well over 200 lbs. It is FAR, FAR , heavier than ARB and Road Armor. I don't know about Exp-1 but I bet it is at least half that of the FabFours. Sorry bro, I used to love it too. I was in denial when I started noticing it's plethora of problems. The three bumpers (if you can get an RA without dealing with the company... the way I did) you list are all considerably better choices than the FabFours front bumper. I never did hear anything good about the rear end either.
