Can we run 285/70/17's with this? Trimming required?
Any larger with or without trimming?
Thanks!
Andrew
Tomorrow the truck will be undergoing a series of forklift tests to check travel and clearance. There was rubbing without the lift, we will see if there is any with the lift.

Re: Daystar 2.5" Front & 1.5" Rear Lift Photos

It was a really busy day, and I did not get as many photos as I would like but, here are a couple important ones. The front install went exactly as the instructions said. The one thing that bothered me was I did not want to use a pickle fork to separate the upper and lower arms. I tried using a small rod end puller and loaded the joint with the puller. A small tap with a hammer on the flat spot of the joint and it snapped apart...

This saved the boot around the joint. Had a pickle fork been used, the boot would probably ripped and then need to be replaced.

The second photo is a shot of a front wheel spacer nut installed. Only 1/2 the threads were in once it was tight. The front studs are shorter than other Toys. For a safe install of spacer, longer studs are going to be needed....

On the rear the studs are longer and a wheel spacer can be installed with all of the threads of the nut being filled.

Re: Daystar 2.5" Front & 1.5" Rear Lift Photos

Thanks for the post and pics Chris. I know there are a few who are running wheel spacers on this forum. I would like to know if they ran into the same problem or not?

Chris it's possible that the wheel spacers made by different companies have deeper wells where the nut threads onto the bolt. Can you compare one of these spacers to one of your spacers. See if the nut wells are the same depth. this is the only thing I can think of. I can't imagine these other forum members running spacers to just leave the nutz hanging out like that (no pun intended).

Chatsworth, Atilla, tiSilverFJ. Your input here is much appreciated.

HI Tranman,
You got your lift.

Here is a link were I got mine from.http://www.spidertrax.com/s.nl/it.A/...2&category=169 Take a close look at the shape of the nuts. Not positive but from Trail-Gears picture it looks like the nuts don't counter sink into the spacer like Spidertraxs do. I've checked the torque alot and they never moved. I currently have over 8,000 miles on them. They are the best spacers out there. Give them a call. They can answer any questions.

Here is a picture of mine. Front and Rear

Re: Daystar 2.5" Front & 1.5" Rear Lift Photos

Thank you for the quick reply! Are yours the 1" or 1.25"? Do you know if it matters? Will you get more revolutions on the bolt with 1 vs 1.25 or the same b/c the depth of the well doesn't change? Thanks again.

Also do you have time to post a few pics of your rig with the spacers on? I'd like to see how much the tires/wheels stick out beyond the fender flare. Some close ups and distant shots to see the stance. Thanks man.

Also I have pics up of my FJ after the daystar lift. Check them out here.

don't know if your mistaken or just kidding. I bought the daystar lift from rockymountainsuspensions. Don't know if Trail-gear is planning to carry it or not. I got sliders for loaning my FJ for a photo shoot. They lifted my FJ cuz Chris is a nice guy and I said I would keep the stickers on as a way of advertising since I haven't seen very many FJ's around town and it's still getting lots of looks. Tran

1.25" I don't know for sure but think the depth would be the same or it wouldn't work.
Sorry, currently no photos head on with spacers. Hope these pics help. When you add a lift it sucks the wheels closer together. The spacers help bring them back out. Definitely gives it a meaner look.

1-stock tire/rim both front and back with spacers
2-stock tire/rim front w/spacer back without
3-stock setup with spacers on all 4
4-Toyteclift 17x9 KMC rims/285-70-17 GY MT/R's w/spacers on all 4

Re: Daystar 2.5" Front & 1.5" Rear Lift Photos

thank you. Nice pics. I will likely order (1) of spidertrax spacers for the front wheels, and use of the the other 2 pairs I have for the rears, since I had no issue there.
