Very intresting indeed! I have a 6" lift now, run 35"s with no rub at full compression. With the super swamper 37"s I'm hitting. This may do the trick for me!!!

Thanks for posting your experience with this mod and all the photos! Nice Job!!!

Do you have any pics from the front and rear? A bit closer on the bumper gap issues? I'm also running 37's and need a bit more before I do the SAS.
1.5In

1.25in

I dont have any of the front bumper, but it is exactly where the stock bumper sits on a non BL truck due to the frame mount lift.

Also keep in mind that both of our Kaymar rear bumpers were prototypes to see how they fit, and Glenns had a gap about the same as mine does after the lift, before his lift.

in my opinion 1.25 is the ideal BL for the FJC. (and not only coz thats what i went with lol)

how much did everything cost and how much time did it take?
Approx $200 each kit (everything included for install) and it took us 3hrs each - however it would be different time depending on bumpers, accessory electricals or plumbing, othere oddball issues etc.

Do you think that this will increase the chances of inner fender body bulges/rips? I'm thinking that because the body is now "floating" higher above the frame it is allowing more flex of the body?
Possibly, but i've already got the bulge (and been blacklisted on warranty by toyota) so nothing i can do about that lol.

Have a issue, go to a dealer and get turned down because you wheel your FJ. They then log in the computer that you "abuse" your FJ because you take it offroading. Every single dealership will see that when you take it in to get work done.

MIGZ, are you considering doing the body lift? You would have to do some major cosmetic work to get were the bumper and body panels meet up.

Re: Body Lift Install W/Pics

It cool that work for you the body lift.

I have the same body lift from spring last year and there really no problem with it!

I will customize a new brear bumper this spring and i will make it higher of 1,25".
I'm sure if we ask to some company who make these bumper to correct the pattern for a body lift, i think they will do it!

Nice rigs!!!

Re: Body Lift Install W/Pics

Great write-up and good job on being an FJ first (haven't seen anyone do a body lift yet... correct me if I'm wrong!)

I don't like body lifts personally, but if it suits your purpose, that is all that matters! Looks good.

Re: Body Lift Install W/Pics

Great job...Im thinking of doing something similar with my 07 hilux at some stage in the future. 1.5" sounds good and its what they use on the hilux bodylifts in europe. The Hilux and FJ being similar.

what height is your suspension sitting at? 3" ?

and I assume by 295 you mean 295/75x16 tyres yeah? 33" diamter or just over?

I reckon you'd fit 35/10.5x16 easily in there now.

NO no body lift for me just wanted more info.

As for being on a black list, I think its complete BS and getting a lawyer should get you right back into the service department.
