4x4 / Off-Road TechThis section contains all discussion related to taking the FJ Cruiser in Off-Road situations, 4x4 applications and any armor modifications.
First time after 3 months I took the manual out and read the whole thing page by page. I have to pee my pants laughing this morning....
Page 216 in YELLOW:
.....Do not modify the suspension/chassis with lift kits, spacers, etc. It can cause dangerous handling characteristics resulting in loss of control.......
.....I guess most of the FJ owners never read the manual....
that's weird because Toyota has some lifted FJC's on the trail teams and they gave one for the Ultimate Adventure and that rig is crazy built. I guess it release them of liability?
LOL.......
Just goes to show that they have to put a disclaimer, so if anyone gets hurt they can say I told you so! they just don't want to pay out the bucks in a law-suit!!!!

Why dont they put a disclaimer:
....Please dont drive your FJ at all. Le us bring your FJ from the dealer to you and just leave it in your garage and dont even go near it. Someone might get hurt.....
The manual also says don't recover the seats- as you might mess up the airbag sensors.
That manual would be about 1/8" of an inch thick if you took out all the warnings and cautions. (although it is handy to know that side-curtain airbags can cut your head off if you're hanging it out the window during deployment!)
The only thing I actually worry about is what effect adding an aftermarket brush guard or bumper has on the front impact airbag sensors and crumple zones.

Mkey...Last week you said you didnt get the CD, what? In Canada they dont give you manual either? Is this another humor attempt? hahahahaha
Yep, lame attempt #2. My manual is lumped together with all my other manuals in a drawer(none of which I have read). Might have to put them on the toilet tank, at least that way I'll read them.
