BUMP!
How is this holding up for everyone? Still doin' well for ya?Any gremlins?
Just read through the entire post and kept thinking to myself...Why would someone do this? Freakin' easy answer: to reduce the forces that must occasionally be applied to componentry while off-roading. Simple really, since its usually the inept off-roaders who think that if you cant crawl over/through something you should just hammer the hell outta your rig. Almost every rig Ive seen that has snapped used the gas/brake theory.
Add to this that more than half the trails I have ever gone one I had no bloody clue as to what kind of trouble I was getting into. I do not research my trails on purpose. I believe that if my rig has my toolkit (moderate off road vehicle system) I stand a pretty darn good chance at getting out competently no matter what shows up on the trail.
Benefits:
Costs nothing
Another trick in the bag
Easy "do it yourself" project (do it on your coffee break)
Gives more options on the trail
Allows YOU to opt not to do it
Provides more control in a limited control situation = safety
Will definitely allow you to cross terrain with FAR less stress on your ride
I humbly respect those who are unwilling to consider the hack. More power to ya. I totally understand that with such a versatile/competent vehicle that even having a .000000001% chance of voiding a warranty is silly for some.
when i first did this i had intermitent connection problems due to using the crimp type connectors the brown orange wire is so small its hard to get a good connection that will withstand all the bumbs so i redid it soldering the connection and havent had any problems at all and it has gotten me out of alot of situations where the atrac wasnt enough most of the time you dont need the locker i only use it on the really tough obstacles
WizardsFirstRule People are stupid;given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything.Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true,or because they are afraid it might be true.People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true.People are stupid;they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can,and so are all the easier to fool
all my pictures at TTORA are showing up as not being able to be seen. I have thought about this for a while and was wanting to do it this week. Can anybody tell me how to do it to where i can see the pics?

I'll wait to see how Toyota implements in on the SE. i.e. is the ABS disengaged or not... Maybe their will be a way to retrofit the SE's mod into ours...
Still working great for me. Actually took the time Saturday to really clean up my A-TRAC + Locker mod which I had only done with a wire crimp. Sodered, heatshrinked and tucked everything back into the factory harness. Looks awesome and you can't even tell anything has been altered.

Where are the pics? You don't get full credit for a mod until pics are posted.
