Ok, here's all the info:

As far as A-Trac with the rear locked, ATRAC only applies itself when on that axle is senses one wheel spining faster than the other. Since the rear is locked, both tires spin at the same speed and ATRAC will not apply itself to the rear axle, only the front when it senses one wheel in the front spining.
Interesting. Simple, yet elegant and powerful. The AlexAtracHack.

So, if I tap the pin 44 (A4) to the pin 1(A5) I would have activate A-Trac even if I dont have rear locker diff?

Right before reading this thread I was analizing the schematic on the Skid Control ECU to see what could I do. So tell me if what I asked could be reasonable or tell what do you think about it.

OK, I dont have the rear locker but I like/want to have the A-trac. When I bought my FJ I ordered the a-trac button but I realized and by reading posts that A-trac wont work if you dont get rear locker even that the locker and the a-trac are 2 different system. So Im looking the schematics of the skid control ecu wondering how to make this possible...if its possible.

thanx DigableKid

On the older Tacoma's that was called the grey wire mod. I havn't looked to see if they adapted it for the newer Tacoma's yet, but it should be doable. I just never had a use for the locker at high speed.

Re: Rear Locker + ATRAC

This Weekend at Hatteras NC... Running in some very wet sand... OK.. In the Surf... at a good speed, I was loosing a little traction while in High FWD, and to be able to engage at that point without a complete stop would have helped...

I Agree its not very often you may need this, but ever once in a blue moon ya know'...

Re: Rear Locker + ATRAC

^^^ Ditto.

I do a lot of beach driving and having the rear locker in 4H (6MT) would be nice.
