... and decided to see if the swaybar had any real effect at limiting down travel. So, I put the FJ up on jack stands and had the ext. Icons at full droop. The swaybar reapplied with no issues. I would imagine if the swaybar limited the downtravel at all I would have had an issue reapplying it at full droop. Perhaps the swaybar doesn't limit travel but the links are being overstressed and with time will snap?.....
I'm Not sure how you set this test up but it sounds
like you hung both sides at the same time while you
were on jack stands with the swaybar attached, so
yes, the swaybar shouldn't limit the droop of both
wheels at all, due to the flexable link joints, maybe
at full lock you would see some, but not straight on...
The swaybar should limit droop of one tire if you only
have one at droop, which in most real world
situations would be the case, due to one tire being
stuffed some and the other being at droop (unless
you are catching air at the time ), so the
difference between the two would be less with the
swaybar one then with it off...
I guess I should measure and give the amount when
I have a few miniutes this weekend to play... ...
The LCA travel is limited by the bolts that attach to the frame. The bolts tighten down onto some rubber bushings. So, there isn't any internal stop. If the lower bolts are loosened the LCA can swing freely. I think most people are adding limit straps in fear of busting a CV. Again for me I beleive the LCA will control the droop before this ever becomes a issue.

I guess this could be possible. I haven't concerned myself enough with the issue considering I run withouth the swaybar. Still seems as though it would be a miniscule amount if any.

ahhh... sort of a torsion effect with the rubber !...
When you did the install, was your tie rod and/or UCA disconnected either at the ball joint or UCA bolt? I've done a handful of installs on FJs and 4runners and never did I have to do what your describing. I actually have to get a jack under the LCA and jack it up to seat the lower shock bolt.
Honestly I cant remember. It was over a year ago when I did that install. I know there was another guy there that said he had to do the same thing with his Tacoma. I don't think anything was damaged during the install. I have put about 20,000 miles on it since then. I would hope I would have noticed by now.

Well I love the modification that you made and if its ever a product, I would definitely consider it because these things I know:
I liked the feel with the sway bar off road EXCEPT for tippy like situations where it felt like it slanked over more than usual in those same sits.
I didn't like the feel of having it off when on the road, it was not terrible but passengers that are not used to it really don't like it.
So until there is a device that can keep it from going to far over in a tippy situation that can help stabilize the IFS, then I will hold off due to the exact same reasons John thinks.
^^^ It all depends on the type of Wheeling 'YOU' do,
and what situations 'YOU' get into, like almost every
modification you can do to your vehicle...
For me most times off road, I would rather be disco'd,
either due to location, type of terrain, and how I am
going to drive, or a combination of said items, but on
some occasions offroad, I would rather run with the
swaybar connected, so the option 2007FJ came up
with fits 'MY' use to a tee...
The Disco allows me to choose when 'I' want to have
it disco'd, or when 'I' want it connected, sort of like
why I like the FJ, so 'I' can go where I want when 'I'
want to... ...

Limiting straps will help reduce the slanking/snap roll effect.
The Beauty of this system is you only disconnect when you want.
Only takes 30 sec or so to remove/install
Allpro sway bar relocator provided by Tibaal spur of the moment (he just had one lying around LOL) when we realized this was needed for install to keep this beefy massive LINK off the spindle.
Had to get a sway bar relocator from Tibaal, THANK YA BRO! And that was it..the quality is amazing and Mark did one hell of a job on packaging and shipping not a thing missing and he provided instructions (not like its that hard...but he did provide torque specs) Discoed it and drove around town going over curbs and speed bumps and even with that mall crawling crap, I could feel a total difference I've never once driven without the sway so it was pretty amazing..cant wait to hit the rocks this weekend. THANKS again brotha!
With the sway bar attached just driving on the road it seemed to feel better with the heim joint there..could be my excitement getting to me Haven't been this stoked since getting my lift, armor, and all the goodies from Allpro 2years ago
BTW what is everyone using for lube on the heims for future reference?
