Re: Complete Front Bumper Comparison

I'm not interested in the winch but I really like the way the ARB fits and looks.

Haven't seen whether or not they make one without the winch-hole in the center. Anyone know one way or the other?

Re: Complete Front Bumper Comparison

I'm sure ya'll have discussed, but if so I can't find it:

I'm seriously thinking of the ARB with a Warn winch. Noted in this thread the ARB's are among the heaviest @ 150lb.

Will I have sag in the front end with this much added weight? I'm not too interested in suspension mods to accomodate the new bumper....

Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated.

YES...you front will sag. And it will ride more stiff, since the suspention is compressed more then designed.

I dont know if the 150# includes a winch or not...but if it does NOT, you better add another 30# for the winch itself, and with steel cable add another #30 or so...which is why many run 'plasma rope', stronger then steel and lighter (maybe 4-5# tops).

I'm running an ARB with no winch and stock suspension and my front has maybe sagged 1/4 of an inch. To me the ride is a tad stiffer but not as bad as some people make it seem. You will be very happy with the ARB.

That weight is without winch as per the ARB website. You're talking over 200lbs. with winch. I would think your front end would sag quite a bit without aftermarket suspension.

Re: Complete Front Bumper Comparison

ok, just got off the phone with Scotty @ All-Pro. These guys are always really good ont he phone! I ordered the bumper, large hoop, and yea, I got the Bandi mount. I'm assembling all the parts for the necessary upgrades. I'll snap some pics when done.

Anyone have any recomendations on paint vs. powder coating the bumper. I had an ARB on the Taco and I got tons of road nicks...

Any thoughts?

Re: Complete Front Bumper Comparison

Okay,
I've done some reading and searched but still have a question. Who makes a relatively light replacement bumper with brush guard but no winch mount?

Thanks in advance,

Paul.
