Re: CV Axle Questions?

So, I take it that they are not going to cover this under warranty?

And I take my earlier statement back regarding the Daystar kit not being a top load lift, as it is both a preload and top load lift.

Re: CV Axle Questions?

Torn CV boots are not part of items that are covered under the warranty. Sorry.

Re: CV Axle Questions?

They are covering it under warranty but not giving me a rental. The only reason I took it to the dealer was because I wanted my rental. Hopefully I can get one of those 27 kits on order. After this is all over with I'm going to get two sets of CV boot kits just to keep around. Hopefully I can have my FJ back by September 1st.

Talk to Evan @ Northridge Toyota Parts (888) 381-0623. He'll locate the boot for ya.

Part number: 04427-60080 (For FJ Cruiser)
Availability: None available at the factory. 27 in transit. 24 heading to Ontario. ETA unknown

Part number: 04428-04010 (For 2005+ Tacoma)
Availability: In stock ready to ship from factory.

I am under the impression that the tacoma boot kit will work since the front axles are the same. No guarantees but that's my rational. Evan is unable to verify whether or not the kits are the same but the price is the same for both kits. If you want to try the 2005+ Tacoma boot kit give him a call and he'll get the kit out to ya asap.

Good luck
The phone number listed above doesn't work. Can you verify please?

Try this number: (818) 734-5600

That's their non 800 number that I have. I tried to look for the other 800 number but couldn't locate it.

Re: CV Axle Questions?

Are there any aftermarket CV axles and/or boots available for the FJ?

Can someone verify that the Taco and 4Runner are the same boots? If so, There are aftermarket companies that sell better boots for these models- this would be a big help so that ZUZU can order 2 seta ( a backup ) and get the rig back on the trail...

Re: CV Axle Questions?

I'm pretty sure the Taco and 4Runner boots are the same as the FJ. I want a long travel CV axle setup.

Re: CV Axle Questions?

What about in Australia? Couldn't you use a boot from a Prado?
