Question Rock Rails & Door Dings

To those of you that have sliders and rock rails:

To they stick out far enough to help eliminate/prevent door dings in parking lots? Maybe they are a little low. Here in so cal, parking spaces are getting smaller and smaller and one thing I can't stand is getting door dings on my new fj.

I have the Toyota factory rock rails -- based on my take they don't stick out far enough to help prevent door dings. (here is one pic)

There are other 3rd party rock rails that do stick out farther that might help. A quick search turned this subject being mentioned in these thread which might be worth reviewing
