Doesn't sound any different than the trails down here in the SE, the trails I've been on in CO, UT, CA or most anywhere else I've been...
yeah Colorado's trails are pretty tight.
I think the only reason why I have a disadvantage is because I have a huge a$$ bumper in the rear. Granted if I had a 6" lift I'd probably be able to make it..but IMHO I'd rather ditch the rear bumper before putting a 6" lift on.
I never really measured but I do know about 5 ledges I make now with no scraping with 6" that I got high centered with the 3", same size tires same driver same line, Here in the Northeast we run tight rocky trails lined with trees, you don't always get to move over 5 feet to try a different line.
We have the same type trails here up and down the Smokies. I run a 3” OME lift with 33s. I've had to remove the foot from my Hi-Lift, that is mounted on the rack, to get under an obstacle. There are plenty of times overhanging limbs scrape the rack. I can’t imagine having a 6” lift.
Trails are tight here and I catch every low hanging tree branchs! I started with a
OME 3" lift then went with a 6" to find I had more clearance and such. Then I bumped up to 9" and will soon move on to 37"s as the 35's wear down. I have some advantages over other rigs as they may have some over me but I started with stock and have moved up to where I'm at now. No way in Heck your gonna tell me that a 3" lift can go where I can!!! Come on down to my neck of the woods and bring it on!!! I give a crap about huge rocks, even the summit has passive trails that a two wheel drive can manuver over. I like a little more ground clearance and the Fj is limited to what I used to drive. To each his own and I hope peeps don't shy away from a 6" lift.

Bring it on. Where you talking in FL that has that kind of terrain? Anytime you want to follow me round here, just let me know. I'll give you mud holes, not my thing but anything other than that, I'll take that bet...
Hey who was at Rubithon 09? Me.. ran in with the 2 socal sas FJ's straight from loon to the springs. Only saw 3 other FJ's 2 were sas in my group and a 3" with alittle body damage and torn axle boot from a broken sway bar link. Where where all those 3" and trail teams FJ's from last year? Probably at the mall after the beating they took in 08.
Last year I did the Mcgrew trail ride with the trail teams and spent most of the day waiting for them to get out of the way.. and I was rolling on 22's with 45 psi.
I'm would rate myself on the 1 to 10 scale about a 3.3 on driving skills, so no good driver offset needed. But in big bumpy rocks and tight spaces any added room helps.
Just like she told you size doesnt matter. And if you believe that go with the prius, it gets way better mileage (this is really true).

You Da Man!!! The trail teams guys jumped on board with me thru WindRock and I might have touched my sliders once where others were getting high centered! And believe it or not I had the Predator's side rails then

Like I said before I ran the same rock/ledge with the 3" and 6" lifts, made it with the 6" and not the 3", I don't really care what it measures,
It's ledges like this you are not making with a 3" lift

And we do have some deep water around here and the higher you go the deeper you can go. IMHO
Take a close look at who has damage! A 6" lift and a good after market bumper will give you more clearance and approach angles!!! Yes there are a few more goodies as far as armor to protect the lower shocks and links.
With a bigger lift comes heavier componets such as the knuckles lower and upper links and tie rod ends and links. I see a bunch of people posting up with massive underbody damage running stock and with 3" lifts without skids.
As Paul states... yes you can cross deeper water
