suspension (lift) and tire combos

I'm planning on changing out the suspension on my FJ. At first I was considering ToyTec; now I've pretty much decided on Domahoe/Demello. I know I'll get improved handling and ride both on-road and off, whether I lift or not.

Will lifting alone also improve off-road performance, or do I also need to go with larger tires? (I like my stock size BS Dueler Revos and don't want to change them out any time soon).

One of the benefits of the coilover shocks is that they can be rebuilt. Who does this and how long does it typically take? I'd hate to think of my FJ being unavailable to drive for a couple of weeks while waiting for the rebuild.

Thanks!!

Re: suspension (lift) and tire combos

I have this setup. My tires are only the 265 bfgs so similar in size. Check this thread for pics and details:

Installed my Donahoe/Demello lift today
