I once rented a 4runner. Said no to the insurance, figuring I will just use my own if anything happens. 15mins on the freeway and rock chip. Went to lunch and the heat made the crack worse. Was pissed of thinking toyota glass was thinner. Thinner I don't know but the hummer guys have a big problem with this because the windshield is not angle and takes the impact head on instead of deflecting the rock. I am curious to see if this will be a big problem for us FJ'ers. I am having the diamond fusion coating added to my windshield this week. I hope it works!

Here's my post from earlier this week
my new Fj with diamond fusion windshield

Let us know how much it costs to replace the windshield.
Don't Waste Your money on the Diamond Fusion!!!!!!!!
a co-worker friend just picked up his new 06 Rav with the $800.00 Diamond Fusion coating (supposed to be Fantastic for preventing glass cracks) anyway on day 3 he got a small rock smack in the middle and it spread instantly!!
It's covered of course but now he thinks he should have just kept his glass coverage on his insurance! - would have been much cheaper in the long run!
