Sorry for the delay, Air2air just posted some DR pics.
Mostly sand and dirt roads, really no rockclimbing. The 750 square miles of topography here is spectacular and 97% of Maui is undeveloped, but unfortunately, its either state, federal, or privately owned...which translates to 'No Trespassing'.
Many of us do the sugar cane roads after a good rain ( lotsa mud), but of course, it's 'off limits'.
The more recent lava flows ( within the last 700 years ) have produced some very sharp rocks that still need time to smooth out. But that only covers about 10 square miles. There are dry gulches with awesome rock formations that would be a challenge to any top crawler, but 'off limits'.

There are some really killer trails on many of the ranch properties but due to the heavy cattle grazing and most importantly ' LITIGATION'....I will repeat that...'LAWSUIT FEAR'...the landowners forbid any 4wheeling.
