I did a search on this thing a while back, but cant find the info this time around. I want to know if the TRD CAI is truly worth the cash? I need specs on performance. It looks like the price may be climbing. I plan on purchasing a lift in the future, and if the performance gains from the CAI will be good enough to help offset the downgrade in MPG, I'll make the leap.
If you are looking to offset the additional weight of a lift and tires/wheels, along with the effective gear ratio change from the larger tire rolling diameter, you'd best look somewhere other than a CAI, no matter who makes it or what they claim. And remember, even if you could add enough horsepower / torque to off set the loss from the additional stuff, most of it will end up dissipating in the drivetrain, adding stress to components already getting additional stress from the lift / tires... Re-gearing is the only wat to truely compensate for the additional load / stress... the trade off being additional expense, and weaker gears...
