It depends, if I am going HIGH altitude wheeling, I usually tend to put in low octane especially since there is not a lot of air up there anyway. That and with the 91 already in the tank the higher octane balances out the low octane.

In my other vehicle I use a gallon of 76 Cool Blue race fuel to regular 91 and my motor doesnt ping. If I run pure 91 it pings like pouring a box of Kix cereal into a glass bowl.

This is where I get that idea from in mixing medium/low octane with CA version of "high octane".
