Re: A.R. POWERSHIP (+20 hp)?
The OBD2 computer (ecm) used on modern vehicles does not have a prom "chip" like early ecm's of the '80's and early 90's. Any computer tuning that "could" be done either has to be done by "reflashing" the ecm's mapping via the OBD data connector (usually under steering column area) OR in some cases replacing the whole ecm with a tuneable one such as on Subaru WRX's.
The term "chip" is meaningless and so '80's--- quit using it, please!!.
Use new terms like "reflash"
Real tuners such as SuperChips, Diablo and others spend countless hours tuning on dynos and real life conditions to come up with optimum mapping "trade offs"- I call them---no single tuning is right for every driver on the planet Earth.
What the ebay bozo's are selling you is another intake air temp sensor to replace your stock one. It contains a "richer" resistance spec that the ecm uses to "fatten" the fuel air ratio.
This is a rather "across the board" fattening, not taking into consideration any other sensor inputs, or changing timing to compensate .
Expect less mileage and possible check engine light problems due to the o2 sensor trying to compensate by trying to keep the stoichometric (fuel/air) ratio at 14.5:1---the computer will see that as a rich condition and give you the dreaded light.
So I would avoid it. You will hate it and think---"oh well I just lost a 30.00 and its not worth the return hassles"
