Re: Busted diff
Second email to Toyota Motor Sales USA
Here is my letter:
I would like to talk to someone regarding the pictures posted on the Toyota.com website showing the FJ Cruiser in off-road situations.
The vehicle is advertised as being capable of the images shown, however the dealerships in my area (Atlanta, GA) are indicating that if the vehicle is taken off-road the warranty will be void on the _entire vehicle_. Is this true?
Please contact: Milton Martin Toyota, Toyota Mall of Georgia, World Toyota, Team Toyota, and Toyota of Roswell to verify my statements.
I will provide first and last names of the general managers for each of the dealerships I listed at a later date.
Please have someone contact me.
Phillip McGinnis
Toyota's Response:
Dear Mr. McGinnis:
Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.
We appreciate the opportunity to address your inquiry.
As Toyota website stated, the FJ Cruiser is designed as an off-road vehicle.
Driving your FJ Cruiser off-road does not automatically void your warranty but any component damaged by the off-road driving or performance problems resulting from the off-road driving would not be covered.
Determination of warranty coverage is done by a Toyota dealership inspection of the vehicle. The warranty is in effect unless the dealership determines that the cause of a particular concern is not caused by the manufacturer.
If you would like to discuss your specific concerns in more detail by phone, we recommend you contact our Customer Experience Center directly, by calling 800-331-4331.
