Re: New Mexico FJ'ers
NMVoodooFJ,
The trails I was driving was dirt roads with numerous water crossings. I would rate them as good to moderate with a few boulder climbs. The last time I went through the Monticello Box we crossed the river 18 times at depths of 1 ft. to 2 1/2 ft. You definitely need 4 Wheel Drive to travel through the Monticello Box. This last weekend I went in about as far as five water crossings and turned around because it was starting to rain hard and the locals have told me not to get caught in the canyon bottom due to flash flooding. As I was coming out of the Monticello Box a jeep was stuck in the water and I pulled him out (not sure if the 4wheel was working or not). The scenery is fantastic, with lots of wildlife (Elk, Deer, rattlesnakes) and a stock 4x4 FJ Cruiser will be right at home. chris
