Exclamation Tech Write-ups and living posts

Here's my idea, but really it is not my idea at all.

I would like to see a little change here. (Dragon sighs, FJoel is stirring the pot again!)

I recently asked for some info in the 4x4 section: Synthetic winch line questions (and hopefully answers)

I was given a link to: 4X4 Winch Lines at Winchline.com: Winch Line,Winch Ropes, Recovery Gear, Tow Rope, Synthetic Winch Line

From there I found this link: Installing A New Synthetic Winchline - YotaTech Forums

This was written by Corey, one of our members here. He is a great guy and I have already learned a lot from him. Atleast he hasn't told me to stop sending him PM's yet!

I would like to see a new section, with two sub forums.

Tech Write-ups:

1. Technical Articles
2. Living posts (I think this is Terahex' idea, and a great one!)

Things like some of our stickys, could be put up in a living post fashion in that section, and we could all put our input in and build a great reference, as Corey has done in the above link. Once we get a good solid, garage mechanic friendly article put together, we file it in the Technical articles section and lock it up (closed thread). This keeps it free of clutter. If we need to make an update, a mod will have to do it. Your update would need to be suggested in the living post thread of the technical article.

So what do you think? Please let's expand on this, and I'd really like to get it going. I know I will greatly benefit from this, and it will keep some of the newbie posts down, having an ultimate tech article for whatever we can. My post on synthetic line will soon just become forum clutter, and this will greatly reduce that. As usual, PM's can always be sent to get clarification, and we can provide submitting party info in the locked Technical article for this purpose, submitting party consent of course obtained.

Git 'er done! (Please)

Joel
