The upside-down T-bird replaced the short-lived (and very rare) oval Toyota emblem that appeared briefly on the one '57 and the few '58 models.

The T-bird emblem remained as the official FJ-25 hood emblem until the introduction of the FJ-40 in the early 60's.
And, the tires were originally the military style "skinnies."
