If it was me, I'd only expect the warranty to cover it if the pulleys failed during "typical use". If I trash them trying to be a mud bogging scuba driving hero, I don't think I'd feel right asking Toyota to give me new pulleys.
That's why I like this thread. Now I know how fix it myself after I break it.
Everyone's definition of "typical use" seems to be different, so let's try to stay out of that debate.
