Welcome to FJCruisers, Buried in the 227 posts in this thread (so far) you will have found that the engine in the FJ cruiser was tuned for max perfomance with 91 octane fuel. With 91 octane it should give you the stated MPG, HP & TQ figures. Yes, it will run prefectly fine & forever on 87 octane, but it will not be producing the same numbers. How much difference.... ? I've never seen data.
