I mounted a Fobus left hand holster to the side of the console under the ignition.
It is out of the way and easy draw. I think I might switch to a Blackhawk CQC with serpa because the force needed to draw from the fobus can pull on the panel it is mounted to at a funny angle and has a little play. When pulled straight out there is no problem.
I drilled 2 small holes and put a woodscrew mount with teeth so I did not have to remove the dash to install. I then used a washer and screw through the belt loop holes and torqued it down. It is very stable.
I carry a glock 27 but I also have a glock 17. On long trips I will keep the 27 on me and the 17 in the new mount. Next I am going to mount some magazine holders under the steering colum.
