The mountain house products can be made right in their own pouch and do not require hot water (no too appealing of a thought, but hey...it's survival food). Mountain House is a well respected and high quality product. I would not pack something as an emergency food that I did'nt like...all the chosen entrees are their best sellers and taste good.
Mountain house does offer heater packs as well. No silverware needed as we will throw in some plastic silverware too.
