Re: Just picked up my FJ and unexpected problem

Hello to all on this Forum. I just picked up my new FJ and on the way from the dealer stopped to fill up the gas tank. The seatbelt wouldn't release! I tried for 5 minutes and thought I'd have to cut it off when I realized if I pulled the retractor all the way I could do a few contortions and work my way out like an escape artist acrobat. Needless to say I went right back to the dealer where the tech checked ot and said he would have to order a new seatbelt latching component. Anyone else experience anything like this with the seatbelt? I would not like to have been in an emergency situation and not been able to get out of the truck!

On a brighter note, this looks to be a very helpful Forum and I'm looking forward to being an active member.
Haven't heard of it permannetly latching. Sometimes it'll lock up when your wheeling. Welcome to the site. There is a search button on the top. You should try to type in seatbelt and see what happens. There arent too many things that I have encountered that havent been addressed already. K
