Since I've seen various success (or lack of) with this in other "non" car clubs, I'll give my suggestions.

Make it the same location and time every month. I know that you can't please everyone with the location but this seems to work the best because no one ever has to ask where the event is held. It's always in the same place and you seem to get the best numbers this way with a "regular" event. Consistency is the key here.

Weather permitting, parking lot meetings seem to work well for this sort of thing. It's nice because you're sitting and chatting around the vehicles. You can always choose a location where there is food nearby but this seems to work well for focusing the discussions. Parking is always available and you can really line the vehicles up so you can walk around and look at them. I find that when you do it at someone's house you don't get that same feeling.

Just my two cents worth.
