When I quote a post I occasionally see something like this at the bottom:

Already pinged:
wayne.orvik@comcast.net

What does it mean??
PING (Packet Inter Network Groper) is a communication tool used to diagnose network and internet problems. Someone sends you a PING and your computer (if so configured) automatically sends a reply. Sometimes viruses send this out trying to find "hosts."

Not sure why it shows up at the bottom of your screen or who wayne orvic is but if you are running Windows XP SP1 it is defaulted to not honor PING requests.

Running a virus scan may help but if you have altered your default network settings or are running something other than XP SP1 then I'm not sure.
