Safari Snorkel installation (PN SS410HF)*
*I notice that on the safari website, a different part number is given for 2008 FJCs (PN SS415HF).
The included
directions which are available online are very thorough and easy to follow so I won't go through all the step by step directions here. Thanks again Ollie for loaning me the 4-1/4" hole saw; that thing is sharp.

I used masking tape on the fender to easily transfer the holes from the template and drill the pilot holes with a 5/32" drill.
The first cut is the deepest. I decided to cut the 4-1/4" hole first. No, the rest of the holes (16mm and the three 8mm holes in the A pillar) is just as un-nerving to drill.

After deburring the sharp edges, I used Rustoleum gray primer on the new holes for corrosion protection.
Since the TRD CAI is not CARB-approved (in CA), I also re-installed the stock air intake system and use an AFE Pro Dry S drop-in air filter (PN 31-10114). I also sealed the three holes on the fender air intake duct. Overall, the installation was very straightforward and I had to replace only four of the fender grommets.
So far, I have not noticed any wind noise coming from the snorkel. At highway speeds, the difference in temperatures between ambient and air intake is around 3 to 5 deg F (as reported by the Scanguage II) which is very similar to what I have noticed when I had the TRD CAI.
