.....I'm looking for suggestions from those of you that have or have opinion on the stock roof rack mounted light bars. I've seen one from Manik (which is where I'm leaning), the Toyota one with air dam, and then I believe there are others.
Hook me up with some good SoCal forum info. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this thread CADavebert, I am also looking for a light setup that bolts to stock roof rack. I hope you don't mind I jump on this bandwagon.

I would try and weld some slugs on to the ends to cover up the air gaps to get rid of the whistle
It you still want a new one All Pro has one, there are a couple forum members that are making some pretty sweet looking Baja style light racks Uphill has one from another company. I have the All Pro one still haven't finished wiring I am lazy and to big of a chicken to drill the hole in my roof so I haven't finished it. but other then the lights not working right now it is nice. But if I was doing it over I would go with one of the Baja style light racks and mount it on top of the rack with an actuator that will fold them down and have an air dam in the front if you can understand what I am saying.

You can also use JB Weld to fill it the holes; it's a putty and it solidifies hard, so you can sand it, shape it, paint it the way you want. This stuff works great in situations like this.
The Baja style light setups look great, but aren't they very expensive? Also, why the need to fold the lights down, is it for noise reduction?

We have gotten really positive feedback on the Tuffy light bar. Not sure how much all of the other ones cost, but this product is pretty easy for us to make and we are able to sell them for $76. It is all powder coated 1/8" steel. More details at:

Thanks Jeff. Can you tell us please how this light bar installs. Does is simply bolt on or do you need a special tool to install?
I also saw this light bar on ebay:
eBay Motors: Light Bar for FJ Cruiser Black W/Stock Roof Rack (item 290195446402 end time Jan-09-08 13:00:17 PST)
Seems expensive for what it is, and seems to require drilling the side of the roof rack for install. I'll look around to see if I can find any other ones out there and post later.
