I feel what the OP is saying. I've got the DO bumper too. When I recieved it, the powder coat was jacked up at the recovery points and some of the corners of the bumper. I chalked that one up to the shipping. Not neccessarily blaming Jason and his crew but for over $1k spent, I think it could have been wrapped a little better.
I've got the Acro lights too and they are not recessed at all, I tried reversing the mounts on the lights and didn't help much. Still haven't figured out what to do. The bumper's mounting points also didn't line up exactly but could be manufacturing tolerances (of the FJ not the bumper). I ended up breaking the spot welds on the bolts to get the thing lined up.
I too had to wait a bit longer than expected to recieve my bumper, something like 3.5 months (I was told 6 weeks), eventhough my credit card was charged way before I recieved it.
At the end of it all, DO makes great products. I think a lot of the problems I've encountered as well as the OP comes with dealing with smaller shops like Jason's (he was working on sbechtold's and Air2Air's FJs at the time), not enough hands.
Blaise, I understand your frustration, but you'll be satisfied in the end. I'm sure DO will take care of you. BTW, I never contaced DO about any of the above stuff. I was just glad to have the bumper on. And for all the other people who's feathers are ruffled cause Blaise spoke up, give him a break, he has the $1000 right to me mad.
