LTB 34x10.5x16 Finally have them on.

So after months of fighting with Beadlock Specialties I finally got my money back. The plan was to get beadlocks from another vendor, but kind of burnt out over the whole fiasco.

After staring at the Super Swampers sitting in my garage for the last 3.5 months, I just couldn't stand it anymore and had to mount them on something. Had a set of Tacoma rims (5.5 backspacing) that I was trying to sell on Craigslist but wasn't getting any takers. What the heck, put them on the back of the FJ and loaded up the tires. Had them mounted and put some spacers on them. Me likey!

Here are some comparison photos between stock and LTBs.

A 1.5 inch spacer was added (technically it's called a hub adapter) which brought the wheels out a little bit. It now sticks out about .5 inch. I don't want it out too far. No rubbing on UCA anymore with the spacers. Body mounts are cleared, but I'll test it more to be sure.

The LTBs are rough I gotta say. You will know that they aren't street tires. From the moment you get inside the FJ, you know you aren't stock any more. It's much taller, it feels like tank treads when you are pulling forward. I feel every lug (and I love it!). Once it gets going, it's fine. They were difficult to balance and I'm thinking about going with Dynabeads. Will probably do that later.

I'll make some recordings of the sound at different speed with the LTB and also with stock tires. The LTB is best described as sounding like a B-17.

So far no complaints. I knew they were not street friendly and went into it with a trail only mentality. Going to test them out tomorrow. Will post more details when I have them.
