Ellington Darden was a body builder, and is a PhD in exercise physiology, as well as doing post doctoral work on nutrition. Old book, good read. Only change is the view on fat since the 70's. For accurate information on that see:

The information is incredible, but presentation is pretty bad (no proof reader?)
Never underestimate the Placebo Effect, and supplements bad, real food good.
