Re: weightlifting supplements?
The number one supplement- and it's absolutely free- is rest. Lots of it. A good nights sleep as often as you can get it. This is when the body repairs itself. In todays fast paced world with our careers demanding so much, we forget to shut it all out and allow ourselves to relax and rejuvinate.
I'm finding that any vitamin pills from GNC that claim to be for athleticism or those over forty are probably nothing more than a bit of advertising bunk. I've tried many protein shakes over the years ( most are never on the shelf more than a few years before they disappear) and they don't live up to expectations.
I do take L-carnitine and chromium picolinate along with Muscle Milk and I feel a little better and have more energy even though I am not bulking up or gaining extrordinary strength. The chromium is supposed to help burn fat stores for extra energy.
I've added running, swimming and stadium stairs to my routine and have found that Fast Twitch an hour before and Endurox within 30 minutes after (for recovery) are allowing me more time and distance on a progressing scale. A year ago I couldn't run 3 blocks, now I can run a 5k (3.2 miles).
Thanks for posting some of your ideas and sites that i can visit. It's so easy to get bored with the same routines and workouts and hit those plateaus. I second the advice that it's best to change it up and keep the body working a little harder.
