This is an awesome place in my opinion - I'm up here from Texas and don't plan on going back. Cordova should be interesting, I think there is mass snowfall there - I haven't been to Valdez or Cordova, hope y'all like it - summer time here is incredible - if you like to ski and can stand the cold, winter time here is just as incredible - be ready for that "kill ya cold". Up here you start to understand why the right gear costs so much - it's worth it!

maybe we'll end up with some grand Alaska 4x4 weekend trip, I'm still learning as I go up here myself - let me know if you find anything good!
yeah, I am awaiting the sticker shock to hit me. today the hubby called the guy he's replacing and got a bit of info from him.... the guys said that a gallon of milk was $7.00! I nearly had to pull my jaw up off the floor!

well, you and I are both Texans, so if you like it, then I shouldn't have anything to worry about...
and yeah, we like skiing- even tried snowboarding last year (don't think its for me though ), and we've been snowshoeing here and enjoyed that... sledding/tubing is fun too... we enjoy winter sports about as much as all the other seasonal sports... no worries

as far as grand 4x4 trips, I think it would be awesome! I'm already looking at going on a wildlife safari tour-thing with WWF in June somewhere in Alaska.... awaiting details on it.
