Well, Is a perfect use in floods; here rains a lot and no matter how much rains there's always a huge flood somewhere on the roads. Also, I happen to go offroading with some friends of mine, so this will help me to avoid heavy dust and water from rivers crossing. we dont have those "off road open places" to go but we also have fun in our places. Also for better air intake temperature.

The less dense the air is the higher you go up and that EXPONENTIALLY from the ground up. The air also has a longer way to travel and a cutoff volume so no doubt it won't help with gas mileage.

I gurantee that the snorkel takes in just as much dust as one without unless you are riding right on your friends butts. My guess is the non snorkel intake protects from dust since its tucked in the top of the fender well away. But honestly I bet they both get as much dust in them.

They are for looks and water period if you ask me. I live in AZ and we do get some nice flowing water, but not enough for me to want to take my FJ swimming, its fording depths are good enough if you ask me.
