Wire the batteries in series will double the voltage, just like batteries in a flashlight. But wire the battery in parrallel and you keep the voltage the same and double the amperage capacity of the battery system. This would be similar to when you jump start a car.
What you would want to do is tie the negative to the negative, positive to the positive. Gains you lots of added capacity however there would be no back up like in the other systems. You will be draining both batteries at the same time, but it is the simpliest wiring and no solenoid is required.

Thanks DVAN and FJVPs for answering my question.
I understand that for the purpose of powering up all the electrical gadgets in my truck; I can use this method. For me, back up battery is not a big deal; the most important is I don’t want my truck performance to be affected by loading the electrical system. Also it is cheaper, easier and faster.
