Question Looking for a little advice

This is really long winded I know, but please read and give some advice. I really appreciate it!

Well I havent bought my FJ yet, but Im shopping for one right now. I was hoping I could get some advice from some of the guys who have had thiers a while. Do's and dont's kinda stuff.
I want to get a 4x4 FJ. I actually use my 4x4, I go to the snow alot and to the desert a few times a year. I have an 07 4WD Honda Element right now, but its just not cutting it for me. I need something that I can tow a trailer with and still does all the 4x4 stuff. Obviously I know the FJ is going to be more than sufficient for the 4x4 use, what about towing? It wont be too far of a tow, but I still need to be able to do it. So heres question number 1...

Can the FJ cruiser truly handle towing a race car on a trailer? Approx. weight is 4k pounds maximum, I think. I now my Element cant do it for sure. The FJ's seem strong enough, but what about the drivetrain wear?

Question #2...A two part question...
My wife wants the Blue colored FJ, I want black. Its her daily driver, so she wins. They dont make that color for the 08's anymore, so I have to buy an 07, no big deal there. But I wont be able to get exactly what I want and dont want on it now because I cant order one. So what are the must have's when buying an FJ? What sort of options should I get on it. What are the things that you cant live without on it? The things that are good from the factory?
The second part to the question is what sort of things arent necessary? What accessories or parts that the dealer offers are not worth it?
Im thinking about just buying a bare bones 4x4 version so I can add all the good aftermarket parts myself, but if there are some parts that the factory offers that are actually good or worth it then I would like to make sure I get them now rather than later. Im really wanting to turn this FJ into a fun weekend car. I would like to start trail driving a little bit. I love the snow, just went up yesterday. I probably go at least once a week when there is some. No chains for me! ill rough it out! Hahahaha

I know this was long winded, but I have s many questions. Thanks for the help in advance guys!
