1. The Fj tows fine. I towed a rolled FJ once that was a little to heavy but it did fine.
2a. Voodoo blue is still offered on the 08's so you can do ether 07 or 08.
2b. The only think I would say is a most have is the rear electric locker. other then that everything else can be added latter some what easy. as far as what isn't needed it all depends on the person. I went as bare bone as I could find ended up with convenience package.
