My K12rs did the same thing.
After the dealer tried to repair it three times I just learned to live with it.
I test ride for Aeroflow windscreens(the same guy's that make the headlight covers for our FJ's) Paige did a screen for the honda ST1300. I have to say that it is the most lackluster motorcycle I have ever ridden! It is very automotive feeling to me. (just MHO) I thought of the BMW R1200RT, but could not see spending that much at this time. The R1200GS is the BEST handling motorcycle I have ever ridden bar none! If you want a sport tourer, then put a Aeroflow screen on it and WHAMMO!!! you have a touring machine that can go ANYWHERE!( I know they are ugly, but ride one you'll see what I'm talking about!) If you want a canyon carver then use the stock screen and you can carve with the best of them! I'm
posting the pic I did on Saturday for those that didn't see it. Just a side note , The Duc. ST3 1000 was the beat bike Paige has let me ride so far for handling!
P.S. love the avitar, I'm into Jazz too! AND a 1964 Honda 305 Hawk was the first motorcycle I ever got a ride on!(I was 5yrs old and KNEW at that moment I wanted to ride the rest of my life!)

Glad to hear someone else had problems w/the K1200RS. The dealer kept claiming that it never happened before and, when I complained about it on the K1200S owner website, the other Beemer cultists just couldn't accept the criticism.
Given my experience with the K1200 and given the cost of the GS, I'll still probably go w/the ST1300. It's a little vanilla, but I like the lines, the bags are huge, there's a huge owner group and lots of gadgets available for STs and they don't cost that much. I've never had a problem w/any Japanese made bike nor any Ducati.
Also nice to hear about your first ride experience w/the Honda Hawk. A couple of my friend's had one, but I was the only one w/a Scrambler. Guess I had a taste for dirt even then.
