I've never liked them either.. Always used flters with 1" nuts on them. I noticed the ToJo filters (90915-YZZD3) have pre-greased "O" ring. That is really nice.. After the old one is off, it'll be a piece of cake. I have several strap (universal) wrenchs, so that'll get it off. I am a -bit of a tool "freak" and like to have whatever I need. Thanks Ron
PS.. Other poster.. No screwdrivers in filters for me. I followed that advice once when I was a teenage (35 years ago) and it didn't work. Ever try to get a stuck filter off after it self-destructs from a screwdriver? It ain't pretty

The kind of filter wrenches you're talking about have never worked well for me; I use either the retracting-pawl type or just a strap wrench.
