Like bambam I really can't offer much on your specific questions
(I do have the conv. pkg and think its plenty for what we need which is daily driving and mild off roading.) Do wish I had a compass and thermometer though. 
I rally just wanted to thank you for your service and maybe someone posting will draw attention and get your questions answered.
