hey james i am just down the road from you reynolds, only trails close is lake powaton it goes from brevard road to mills river, and in the middle of the trail. road drive if you turn right it takes you to waynesville. best time to do this road to make it more offroad is when it is rainging hard or snowy
otherwise around here the other option is hot springs hope this helps.
