This may have already been mentioned, but I'm too lazy to go back through 13 pages
It is possible to reach the AT and transfer case breathers from inside the passenger wheel well. Turn your wheels all the way to the drivers side, then remove the rubber sheet that is held inside the wheel well by trim fasteners.
With a little wiggling around, you should be able to sit up between the wheel and the frame and reach across to the breathers.
This does not make it easy - but it may be easier than going in from the top.
