Hello and welcome to this forum.
I doubt you'll get a single opinion discouraging you from the FJ on this forum, but to be honest, there isn't any "sane" person who can come up with a "No, don't do it and here's why" argument.
Plainly, the FJ is as easy to drive and as comfortable as the Honda Element. The main difference is that the FJ is much more capable off road (and may be more roomy...don't know much about the Element, so can't tell if this is a factor).
Test drive the FJ, and see how you like its handling and feel. Also make sure you compare the fuel mileage between the Element and the FJ if cost-to-run is an issue for you.
Good luck on your decision, and your age by the way is a complete non-factor; FJ owners range the entire spectrum of "agedness".

Of course I know I will get the biased opinions of FJ owners, but I'm hoping, objectively, they will give me their opinions on their experience with the FJ.
I like Toyota brand....had a Corolla in the past I kept for 11 years, so I know the reliability of the brand. Just wanting more the practicality of the FJ on a daily basis, and the thoughts on that.
