The downside? Didn't know there was a downside to the black steelie, unless you like: 1. to clean & polish & buff & wax
2. worry about scratches when wheeling
3. look like every other mall crawler
4. to pay $125 + for a replacement as opposed to $49
5. to look 'pretty'

Plus, while you can bend a steelie, you won't crack, snap or break one

I've had mine on for a year and a half, on & off-road (no rock climbing) and there is no rust.........a little faded but the dirt covers that ha ha.
