Nope, It kinda works like a Random Access Memory (RAM), it programs a specific chip in the ECU...There is a "TSB "for all makes of Toyotas on how to reset the learned values. Over a certain amount of drive cycles the vehicle learns your driving habits, and adjusts accordingly! I work for Toyota...and yes, for instance if I have a vehicle with a mis-shifting auto trans, that is about to fail....and I replace it with a new one, low and behold if you do not reset learned values it will run like the old transmission did! My FJ comes in on my Birthday! June 9th! Just around the corner. The wait has not been so bad since I get to work,Mod,play with these cars ALLday!
