Before ya get fried I just want to let ya know to use the search feature before posting, these topics have been discussed in depth multiple times.
the Maintanence light most likely is a preset. look in your owners manual, it tells ya how to turn it off, also has the service reqired schedule so you know why it came on in the first place.
the windshield, yep they are expensive. the general consensus on this issue is to lower your insurance deductable as low as you can and have them replace it. usually around 100 bucks.
