I have a possible alternative to the BFG at. Yoko Geolander A/t-s
Pros: Cheaper, deeper tread, not too noisy,
good in snow although I haven't been able to compare them to other tires, they are miles better than the rugged trails that came with the FJ.
I haven't had a chance to test them much off road yet
